"Tbilisi Humanitarian Education University" LLC (hereinafter - THU) announces an open competition to fill the following vacant academic position:

1. On the one-level educational program of dentistry:

1.1. For the position of associate professor (direction - in the direction of therapeutic dentistry in Georgian-language, Russian-language and English-language programs) - 2 staff units.

1.2. For the position of associate professor (direction - Georgian-speaking, Russian-speaking and English-speaking in the direction of surgical dentistry) - 2 staff units.

1.3. For the position of associate professor (direction - in the direction of orthodontics on Georgian-language, Russian-language and English-language programs) - 2 staff units.

1.4. For the position of associate professor (direction - in the direction of orthopedics in Georgian-language, Russian-language and English-language programs) - 2 staff units.

 

2. On the bachelor program of business administration:

3.1. For the position of assistant (major - accounting, Russian-language program) - 1 staff unit.

 

3. Competition conditions:

a) Associate Professor

4.1. A person who:

a) is a person with a doctor's academic degree or an academic degree equivalent to it;

b) has at least 3 years of scientific-pedagogical work experience;

c) has published 2 scientific papers in the last 5 years, which prove his competence in the relevant field;

d) in electronic and printed form represents the syllabus/syllabus prepared in the educational discipline provided by the educational program realized by the relevant faculty;

e) meets other competition conditions approved by the Georgian legislation and/or THU Academic Council.

 

b) Assistant

4.2. For a period of 3 years, a person who:

a) is a person with a doctor's academic degree or an academic degree equivalent to it or is a doctoral student and/or has relevant qualifications, which are confirmed by professional experience, special training and/or publications; A person who has the necessary competence to produce the learning outcomes provided for by the program will be considered as having the appropriate qualifications, which is confirmed as follows:

- has 2 years of professional experience and special training, and/or

- has published a publication in the last 5 years, which confirms his competence in the relevant field;

b) meets other competition conditions stipulated by Georgian legislation and/or approved by THU Academic Council.

 

5. In accordance with Article 35, Clauses 4 and 5 of the Law of Georgia "On Higher Education", a person without an academic degree can also be elected to an academic position on the basis of professional qualifications.

6. Criteria for confirming qualification on a professional basis:

a) Criteria confirming qualification on a professional basis:

1. For the academic position of associate professor:

a) Master's degree or equivalent academic degree;

b) at least 5 years of work experience in the relevant field, which is related to practical work in leading positions in the field (the content of practical work can be specified depending on the features of the program);

c) scientific publication/publications published during the last 10 years in the direction of the subject of the relevant training course/courses;

d) vision of academic activity.

 

7. Additional information: Employment relationship and affiliation with academic staff

7.1. After the selection of the academic staff through an open competition, an order on their appointment to academic positions is issued by the rector.

7.2. Also, with the academic staff, for the term of election to the academic position, a labor contract is signed in accordance with the procedure defined by the labor legislation of Georgia.

7.3. The academic staff is affiliated with the university if: an employment contract has been concluded with him and he has not concluded an agreement on affiliation and/or an employment contract confirming affiliation with another higher educational institution, he participates in the processes of community development and knowledge sharing only on his own or THU's behalf, THU has the corresponding minimum academic load, which is determined by the order of the rector;

7.4. Affiliated academic staff are not required to fulfill the corresponding minimum academic load if: they do not cooperate with any other higher education institution; At the same time, he is employed in an administrative/assistant (non-academic) position at the university;

7.5. An employment contract is concluded with academic staff who are not affiliated with the university.

 

8. Competition criteria for academic staff of foreign language programs

8.1. For the competition announced for the implementation of a foreign language program or a foreign language component of the program, an additional criterion shall be the confirmation of language competence by the contestant in the language of the implementation of the relevant component of the program, if the said language is not the contestant's native language.

8.2. Competence of a foreign language will be considered confirmed for the contestant in one of the following cases:

a) in case of presentation of a document confirming the higher education received in the relevant language;

b) in the case of presenting a document confirming the experience of teaching a higher educational program / training course in the relevant language;

c) in case of presentation of an internationally recognized certificate of possession of language competence, which confirms the possession of the relevant language by the contestant at least at the C1 level, in accordance with the description of competences established by the European Framework of Language Competences (CEFR).

d) in case of presentation of a certificate confirming the experience of teaching a course in a foreign language program for three years in any higher educational institution authorized in Georgia;

8.3. One of the following is considered to be an internationally recognized certificate confirming possession of C1 level language competence, provided for in subparagraph "c" of paragraph 8.2 of this article:

a) Cambridge English First (FCE)

b) BEC Vantage

c) IELTS 5-6.5

d) TOEFL iBT 87-109

e) Michigan ECCE

f) PTE General Level 3

g) PTE Academic 59-75

h) Trinity ISE II

8.4. A participant of the academic competition who cannot prove his language competence in accordance with the rules established by clauses 8.2 and 8.3 of this article is obliged to conduct a demonstration lecture in a foreign language in front of the commission or to pass a language competence test through an exam prepared by the educational university. Test questions and competency limits are determined by the teaching university.

9. The candidate participating in the competition must submit to the competition commission:

a) statement (see form http://thu.edu.ge/ka/content/71/356/0/0/0/0);

b) a copy of the identity card;

c) 2 pieces of 3x4 size. Photo;

c) CV (resume), printed and electronic in the form approved by the university (in Georgian); (see form http://thu.edu.ge/ka/content/71/356/0/0/0/0)

d) copies of the diploma/other diplomas confirming the award of the academic degree; in the case of a foreign language diploma - in a form certified by an apostille;

e) certificates confirming teaching experience;

f) Syllabus/syllabus in printed and electronic form approved by Tbilisi Humanitarian Education University; (see form http://thu.edu.ge/ka/content/71/356/0/0/0/0) list of works published in the last 10 years, textbooks, monographs, articles in published form or copies;

h) a document confirming knowledge of a foreign language;

i) any other documentation that will allow the contestant to be evaluated by additional criteria, documents confirming the received awards, certificates and others.

j) Notice of conviction (according to Article 32, Clause 2 of the Law of Georgia "On Higher Education", a higher education institution cannot employ a person who commits a crime against sexual freedom and inviolability provided by the Law of Georgia "On Combating Crimes Against Sexual Freedom and Inviolability" a person convicted of a crime and/or a person who was deprived of the right to work in an educational institution by the court on the basis of the same law);

11. The salary of the winner of the competition is determined by the annex to the labor contract signed with him;

12. Open competition is announced from February 23, 2024 to March 23, 2024.

13. Documents will be accepted from March 25, 2024 to March 30, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the address: st. Tbilisi, Beri Gabriel Salosi Avenue No. 31. Room No. 17, every day, except Sundays and holidays.

14. The meeting of the competition commission will be held on April 3, 2024 at 15.
