Participation of THU Affiliated Professors Nona Gelitashvili and Giorgi Kharshiladze in the International scientific conference
On 14–15 November 2025, the University “St. Kliment Ohridski” in Bitola (Republic of North Macedonia) hosted an international scientific conference titled “A Multidisciplinary Approach to the Sustainable Development Goals.” The conference was held in a hybrid format.
THU’s affiliated professor, Nona Gelitashvili, and affiliated associate professor, Giorgi Kharshiladze, participated as speakers in one of the online panels. Their presentation focused on the topic: “The EU’s Global Gateway Initiative and Georgia’s Transit Function: Strategy, Investment and Development.”
This international conference offered a dynamic and in-depth exploration of the UN Agenda 2030, bringing together diverse voices to address the pressing global challenges defined by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through engaging discussions and collaborative debates, participants examined key priorities such as eradicating poverty and hunger, promoting health and well-being, ensuring quality education, advancing gender equality etc. The event also highlighted the importance of affordable and clean energy, decent work and economic growth, innovation and resilient infrastructure, and the reduction of inequalities.
