Artificial Intelligence in Research: Tbilisi Humanitarian University at the Erasmus+ Technical Assistance Mission (TAM)

Heads of THU's Research and Development Center and International Relations Office attend an event on research practices in the digital age

On 24 September 2026, the National Erasmus+ Office in Georgia held a full-day event in Tbilisi entitled “Technical Assistance Mission (TAM) – Artificial Intelligence and the Digital Age: Impact on Institutional Research Practice.”

Tbilisi Humanitarian University was represented by Dr. Irma Mesiridze, Head of the Research and Development Center, and Prof. Nona Gelitashvili, Head of the International Relations Office.

The event was intended for representatives of higher education institutions, their research centers, and national research centers.

The participants discussed:

• key European trends in the use of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in the research process;
• the impact of artificial intelligence and digital technologies on research methodology, management, and support structures, as well as the institutional experience of research organizations;
• opportunities to enhance research quality, efficiency, and collaboration, along with the related challenges, including ethics and academic integrity, research data management, and institutional capacity building.

The knowledge and experience gained at the event will contribute to the introduction of modern, digitally driven research practices at Tbilisi Humanitarian University and to the further deepening of its international cooperation.
