
Public Lecture Fundamentals of Logistics Management, Logistics - as a profession of the future?
On June 9, 2021 was held lecture “Fundamentals of Logistics Management”, Logistics - as a profession of the future?", organized by the Faculty of Economics, Business and Management.
The lecture was held in Russian language by Dr. Liana Kanchaveli, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences.
The subjects discussed were related to the etymology of the term logistics, stages of historical evolution, key concepts, terms and objects. Military and commercial logistics. Material flows, logistics functions and operations, logistics systems, transport logistics and international shipping, logistics goals, objectives and basic concept. The importance of information logistics should also be mentioned, because without automation, information and high technologies, the current neo-logistics period and achievements in this field are unthinkable.
It was interesting to see the part of the lecture related to the degree of efficiency of logistics systems so-called LPI (Logistics Performance Index) at the international level and Georgia potential given the country's favorable geographical location, to become the main logistics hub in the Caucasus and Central Asia.
The diversity and scale of the fields of international, integrated logistics, macro-logistics system is very impressive in terms of employment, which was presented at the lecture with interesting video. The materials reflected the charm and future ambitions of the professional.
