On June 4-5, the XVI Regional Forum on Sustainable Development was held in Tbilisi.

On 4–5 June 2026, the XVI Regional Forum on Sustainable Development, entitled “The Role of Peace in Sustainable Socio-Economic Development,” was held in Tbilisi, Georgia.

The primary objective of the event was to facilitate the exchange of experiences, contemporary approaches, and innovative ideas that contribute to the establishment of effective cooperation and foster the sustainable, long-term development of cities and communities. The forum addressed a wide range of significant topics, including human capital development and the role of education in ensuring economic sustainability; sustainable economic development; the 8,000-year-old tradition of winemaking; accessibility and innovation in healthcare services; the utilization and advancement of renewable energy sources; the circular economy; contemporary trends in the construction sector; and other issues of strategic importance.

The forum brought together high-ranking representatives from the public, private, and academic sectors, including the President of Georgia, the Prime Minister, members of the Government, mayors and municipal council representatives, local and international speakers, experts from various fields, as well as representatives of the business community, academic institutions, and the diplomatic corps.

Representing Tbilisi Humanitarian University at the forum were Vice-Rector Medea Chelidze, Head of the Research and Development Center Irma Mesiridze and Senior Specialist of the Research and Development Center Maia Meladze.
