Rectors' Council

On September 25, 2025, under the leadership of the Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Givi Mikanadze, the Council of Rectors was held at the Georgian Technical University, in which rectors and representatives of state and private universities of Georgia participated.
At the session, which was opened by the Chairman of the Standing Commission of Rectors, Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze, the participants discussed the activities and future plans of the conference.
The event was addressed by the President of the European University Association (EUA), Joseph Garrel, who spoke about the main functions and activities of the European University Association.
The conference was also attended by Maurizio Tira, a member of the EUA Doctoral Education Council, who was on a working visit to Georgia, also representatives of state and private universities accredited in Georgia, and other invited guests.
The meeting was attended by the Vice-Rector of the Tbilisi Humanitarian Teaching University, M. Chelidze.
Within the framework of the meeting, the participants discussed such important issues in the field of higher education as: the rule for teaching a special course of the state language at the first stage of higher education; the conference of the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement - significance and results; the opening of branches abroad by Georgian higher education institutions and accreditation of educational programs; other current issues proposed by universities.
