Tbilisi Humanitarian University at the Dialogue on Innovative Higher Education Strategies (DIES Dialogue), Jointly Organised by DAAD and GIZ

On 19–20 October 2026, the DIES Dialogue conference "Cooperation between Higher Education and the Labour Market – Strengthening Employability and Implementation in Curriculum Development" took place. The conference was jointly organised by the DAAD Regional Office Tbilisi and GIZ Georgia.

Dr. Irma Mesiridze, Head of the Research and Development Center, attended the conference on behalf of Tbilisi Humanitarian University.

The conference focused on a key question: how can Georgian universities better prepare their graduates for the labour market? The programme included keynotes by German and Georgian experts, two panel discussions and two rounds of parallel workshops.

Key topics included:

  -   embedding employability in curricula

  -   integrating theory and practice

  -   the dual study models

  -   university–business partnerships

  -   knowledge and technology transfer

German experience was presented not as a ready-made model but as a source of principles to help Georgian higher education institutions develop their own solutions.
