Participation of THU Professors in an International Scientific Conference

Affiliate Professors of Tbilisi Humanitarian University Professor Nona Gelitashvili, Professor Lia Chiglashvili, and Associate Professor Giorgi Kharshiladze — participated in the international scientific conference organized by the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Law of the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest – Pitești University Centre, a partner university of Tbilisi Humanitarian University.

The conference, entitled “THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ‘EUROPEAN UNION’S HISTORY, CULTURE AND CITIZENSHIP”, was held on May 15, 2026, in Romania. The event brought together researchers, scholars, and academic representatives from various countries and universities.                  

The conference focused on issues related to European integration, contemporary governance, law, economics, digital transformation, citizenship, public policy, human rights, institutional development, cybersecurity, and current challenges facing the European Union. Particular attention was devoted to European governance models, the digital economy, regulatory policy, innovation-driven development, and the adaptation of state institutions to contemporary technological changes.

Within the framework of the conference, the representatives of Tbilisi Humanitarian University presented the joint research paper:

“Digital Transformation and State Policy: Institutional Mechanisms between Innovation and Regulation – The Case of Georgia”
 

The presentation examined the institutional and legal aspects of Georgia’s digital transformation, focusing on the role of the state in creating a balance between innovation support and regulatory mechanisms, as well as the impact of European integration on the development of digital governance. The research was based on the theoretical framework of the Adaptive Institutional Balancing Model (AIBM) and addressed issues related to cybersecurity, data protection, innovation ecosystems, and digital governance.

Participation in the conference contributed to strengthening the international academic activities of the university, promoting Georgian research perspectives within the international scientific community, and supporting the dissemination of research related to digital governance and institutional transformation.
